Preface

Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.
                                                                  Aldous Huxley

The primary purpose of this blog will be to list, by year, “official” statements,
quotes, excerpts, etc. from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
(aka the "Mormon Church"), it’s Prophets, Apostles, etc. that clearly shows
it has steadfastly, consistently and unambiguously taught its members for
over 160 years, until recently, that the present-day American Indians and
Polynesians, are the familial descendants of the Israelites in the Book of
Mormon.

This archive will endeavor to include only content that I can be reasonably
sure qualifies it as “official” content of the "Mormon Church," etc.  This will
include, but is not limited to, official Church Education System curricula
(i.e. lesson manuals, books, etc.), official Church magazines, any materials
that were authorized to be used in Church meetings, etc. That is, those
statements, excerpts, quotes, etc. that would qualify them as “official,” as to
the commonly held definition of that word and in the context in which it is
used here.

Definition of the word “Official

1. prescribed or recognized as authorized (Webster’s Dictionary)

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/official

2. authorized or issued authoritatively (Dictionary.com)

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/official

3. approved by authority; authorized. (Your Dictionary)

http://www.yourdictionary.com/official

Synonyms for the word “Official

1. authorized, sanctioned (Merriam-Webster Thesaurus)

http://www.merriam-webster.com/thesaurus/official

Some of the content I’ve included in this blog's archive required a "judgement

call" on my part as to whether or not it would qualify by definition as official

and in the proper context.  Nevertheless, even if some of the archive's content

was later deemed to be “questionably official” and was to be eliminated in the

future, I am reasonably confident that easily over 90% of this archive's content

would still contain pertinent "official" content that should be chronicled for

future reference.

Needless to say, since I am the sole author, editor and proofreader of this

blog's archive I anticipate there will be errors (i.e. in grammar, spelling,

possibly my judgement on what qualifies as “official,” etc.) that need to be

addressed.  I would appreciate any and all such mistakes being

brought to my attention so I can make corrections at the earliest possible date.

Also, reader additions to the archive's content (accompanied with

references) are welcomed and appreciated along with suggestions for

improving this blog.

Introduction

Indian, of course, for every LDS child knows

that an Indian is called a Lamanite.”*

The date: Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018.  The location: The (Mormon) Church History

Library in Salt Lake City.  The event: A press conference to announce and

promote the release of Volume 1, “The Standard of Truth 1815–1846, of the

Church’s new four volume narrative of the Church’s history, “Saints: The Story

of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Days (or for our purpose, simply,

"Saints.")

At this press conference, Elder Quentin L. Cook (a member of the Quorum of

the Twelve Apostles, for the Mormon Church) said,

"We feel that having a total picture that is transparent and tells the

whole story, tells true accounts, that seen in context, almost

everything will be faith-promoting and build faith. So many things have

been taken out of context, and seen as in a minuscule way. This [“Saints”]

now allows a complete picture"**

Does Volume 1, The Standard of Truth...”

tell the whole story, portray an honest context

and is transparent?

It is rather ironic that the first volume of this four volume set is entitled, “The

Standard of Truth...” Why ironic?

Because,

1) this first volume of “Saints” (the Joseph Smith era) makes absolutely no

direct mention of the familial connection Mormonism has taught its members

the vast majority of its history, between the Native American Indians

(and Polynesians) to the Israelites of the Book of Mormon.

The significance of this omission is evidenced by the hundreds of "official"

Church quotes, excerpts, statements, etc. contained in this blog's archive that

identify the Native American Indians (and Polynesians) as the lineal/familial

descendants of the Israelites in the Book of Mormon.

(See Parts 1 through 11, in this blog's archive, for these official quotes,...

etc. P.S. More "official declarations," will be added in the future as time permits.)

To totally omit the significance of the connection between the Book of

Mormon Lamanites and present day American Indians, in Volume 1 of "Saints,"

can only be described as an omission of “Biblical Proportions,”  and

2) in the book, “Saints,” there is “A Message From the First Presidency,” of the

Mormon Church, which in part reads:

We encourage all to read the book [“Saints”] and make use of the

Supplemental material available online…”

The First Presidency

One of these "supplementary materials" for the book "Saints," is an essay

entitled, “Lamanite Identity.”***  Following is an excerpt from this essay that
is cited to illustrate what would seem to be an effort on the Mormon Church’s
part to distance itself from its own aforementioned historical Lamanite
narrative, a narrative they have taught its members for over 170 years.

The hundreds of "official" Mormon Church quotes, excerpts and statements

contained in this blog's archive are the evidence that the following

"Lamanite Identity" essay paragraph is provably false.

"Lamanite Identity Essay" Excerpt

"Just as the history of the northern ten tribes of Israel after their exile in

Assyria is a matter of speculation rather than knowledge, the history

of the Lamanites after the close of the Book of Mormon record is a

matter of speculation. The Church asserts that all members are part of

the covenant house of Israel either by descent or adoption but does not

take a position on the specific geography of the Book of Mormon or claim

complete knowledge about the origins of any specific modern group

in the Americas or the Pacific.  Whatever the historical particulars, the

Church continues its efforts to help realize the hopes of Book of Mormon

prophets that the covenants of the Lord might be extended to all the lost

sheep of Israel."

The preceding "Lamanite Identity" essay paragraph declares that the

Mormon Church does not take a position on who the Lamanites were,

after the close of the Book of Mormon record, nor where any groups

in the Americas or the Pacific originated.

As mentioned earlier, in the “Preface,” the reality is that from the beginning
of the Church in 1830 until recently, the Mormon Church has steadfastly,
consistently and unambiguously taught as truth, a historical fact, that
after the close of the Book of Mormon record, the present-day native
American Indians were Lamanites, familial descendants of the Book of
Mormon Israelites.

A “Mutually Exclusive Dilemma”

It is now irrefutable, that as of late 2018 with the Mormon Church’s
publication of Volume 1 of “Saints,...” (along with its supplemental materials),
the Mormon Church has totally abandoned its aforementioned historical

Lamanite narrative.

However, this creates a "mutually exclusive dilemma" for Mormonism. Why?
Because, if the Church's current position is correct, that

"the history of the Lamanites after the close of the Book of Mormon
record is a matter of speculation,"

IT MUST FOLLOW THAT

all the hundreds of "official declarations" by the Mormon Church, its past Prophets,
Apostles ,etc., concerning the aforementioned historical Lamanite narrative, were

100% FALSE!!!

That, my friends, is no small thing when one considers the fact that the
members of Mormonism have always been told they are being led by
God's true and only Prophets and Apostles on the face of the earth.
Such a long record of inconsistency (over 170 years) by the Lord's self
proclaimed anointed,...well, frankly, it simply doesn't pass the "smell test."

The enormity of this "revisionist history" by the Mormon Church can
only be fully appreciated as the reader begins to examine the hundreds of
"official" Church quotes, excerpts and statements, they're able to find in this
blog's archive.

Only then can the reader fully appreciate the multitude of ways the present-

day Native American Indians/Polynesians (or Lamanites) was woven into the

very fabric of Mormon Church history.

I invite all readers to closely examine this blog's archive to verify its accuracy,

context, and to substantiate whether or not the Mormon Church has indeed

abandoned the historical Lamanite narrative it taught its members for over

170 years
